About Our Guest Amy Newmark

In 2008, William (Bill) Rouhana, Amy Newmark and Robert Jacobs became the new owners of Chicken Soup for the Soul.  Since then Amy Newmark has served as the publisher and editor-in-chief for Chicken Soup for the Soul.  She has authored and co-authored all of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

Chicken Soup for the Soul book series is the world’s favorite and most recognized storyteller for over 25 years.  With well over 100 million books sold to date in the U.S. and Canada alone, more than 250 titles, and translations into more than 40 languages, the company continues to focus on their mission of “changing the world one story at a time®.”

Today, Bill and Amy, a husband-and-wife team, along with everyone else at Chicken Soup for the Soul, are responding to readers’ requests and expanding beyond the bookstore.  They make wholesome and balanced pet foods because they know how special the relationship is between people and their pets.  They are online with forums, apps, a Chicken Soup for the Soul YouTube channel, and have a new Chicken Soup for the Soul TV show.  They are also working on a major motion picture.  Bill and Amy are always looking for ways to share happiness, inspiration and hope through everything they do.

Whether you’re a marathoner or an occasional jogger, everyone needs a boost to power through those first steps in the morning or those last steps of a grueling race.  And there’s nothing better than hearing from people who have changed their lives by getting out there and doing the same.  The benefits to your physical and mental health from hitting the road or the trail are boundless.

Ultramarathoner and New York Times bestselling author, Dean Karnazes, who once ran 350 continuous miles and has completed 50 marathons, in all 50 states, in 50 consecutive days, is a long-time Chicken Soup for the Soul fan who believes in the power of storytelling to change lives.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Running for Good, 101 Stories for Runners & Walkers to Get You Going, is a collaboration between Dean Karnazes and Amy Newmark.  It is a new collection containing inspirational stories from real people that will get you up from your chair and out into the world.  You will feel like you have 101 friends giving you tips and urging you on while you do so.

I invite you to listen to my interview with Amy.  We will be having a conversation about how parents who have used running to bond with their children, couples who ran together and repaired their marriages, people who ran their way right out of jobs they didn’t like and into new careers that stoked their passion for life, and people who have not only done “good” for themselves, but have also raised money for good causes through everything from 5K races to 100-mile ultramarathons.

Get in touch with Amy Newmark by completing the form.
