About Our Guest Amy Newmark

In 2008, William (Bill) Rouhana, Amy Newmark and Robert Jacobs became the new owners of Chicken Soup for the Soul.  Since then Amy Newmark has served as the publisher and editor-in-chief for Chicken Soup for the Soul.  She has authored and co-authored all of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

Chicken Soup for the Soul book series is the world’s favorite and most recognized storyteller for over 25 years.  With well over 100 million books sold to date in the U.S. and Canada alone, more than 250 titles, and translations into more than 40 languages, the company continues to focus on their mission of “changing the world one story at a time®.”

Today, Bill and Amy, a husband-and-wife team, along with everyone else at Chicken Soup for the Soul, are responding to readers’ requests and expanding beyond the bookstore.  They make wholesome and balanced pet foods because they know how special the relationship is between people and their pets.  They are online with forums, apps, a Chicken Soup for the Soul YouTube channel, and have a new Chicken Soup for the Soul TV show.  They are also working on a major motion picture.  Bill and Amy are always looking for ways to share happiness, inspiration and hope through everything they do.

We learn so much from our canine companions, and along the way they keep us company, provide unconditional love, and share in the ups and downs of our lives.

What do we learn from them?  Everything.  Our dogs make us better people.  If we rescued them, they rescue us back.  If we’re sad, they comfort us.  If we need to have more fun, they show us how.  They are our protectors, our role models, and our best friends.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Life Lessons from the Dog, 101 Tales of Family, Friendship and Fun will have dog lovers laughing, tearing up, and nodding their heads in recognition as they dive into these touching, inspiring, and sometimes mind boggling stories about all the ways in which dogs enrich our lives, become part of our families, and make us better people.  Chicken Soup for the Soul is donating royalties from the book to American Humane.

I invite you to listen to my interview with Amy.  We will be having a conversation about how dogs helped their owners improve their relationships, acted as natural therapists, and showed them how to overcome their own challenges.  They learned how to be better humans through the examples of their dogs’ loyalty, faith, forgiveness, and resilience.

Get in touch with Amy Newmark by completing the form.
